Vice President Encourages Maridi Youth to Champion Peace and Unity

Vice President James Wani Igga, during a meeting with the leadership of the Maridi Youth Association in Juba, emphasized the importance of promoting peace and unity among the citizens of Western Equatoria State.

In a statement released by the Vice President’s office, the discussion primarily centered on peace-building efforts and empowering youth.

Highlighting the pivotal role of youth in nation-building, Vice President Igga stressed the significance of spreading messages of unity, particularly in Maridi and across South Sudan.

He urged the youth to commemorate the late Veteran Gen. Ali Gbatala as a means of honoring the sacrifices made for freedom and fostering a spirit of unity.

Furthermore, Igga encouraged the youth to initiate self-reliance projects aimed at benefitting the broader youth community in the region.

In response, youth leader Mr. Alex Frazer expressed their commitment to mobilizing youth for the upcoming launch of the SPLM Political School in Maridi County next month.
